Capitalisation

Capitalisation in the correct place is vital for a Writing test because it can send you down to a level 2 level. To get us prepared for our next Writing test we have been looking at capital letters and how to use them in the correct way. For example NATO gets capital letters because it is a name of an organisation and the first letter of a new sentence always get a capital letter. Another mistake made by a lot of people is not putting a capital letter when they use 'I' in their writing like 'Lily and I went to get an ice cream.'  

Anti-Suffrage Summary

The anti-suffrage group were against the suffrage movement. They were so determined not to let women vote they gave out pamphlets that had bizarre reasons why they should not vote. One of the reasons were it is unwise to risk the good we have with the bad that can occur when women get the vote. We have been researching deeper into it and to show our learning me and Tiava created a summary. 

Reciprocal Reading With Fraidoon - Evaluation

In Reading today we have had a session with one of the reciprocal reading experts, and his name is Fraidoon. On our DLO we have the words people in our group can't define, things we need to work on and things we did with success. To do Reciprocal Reading we need to collaborate and take risks to be the leader. I had fun doing this and it was great to work with people who engaged in the learning as much as I did.

Apostrophe

In writing we have been looking at the positioning of apostrophes and why they're there for. If there is more than one owner the apostrophe is after the last letter of the owners and if there is one owner the apostrophe goes before the last letter of the owner. An apostrophe is used usually to shorten words. I found this task easy because I learnt about this at my old school.

Stopping Bullying DLO

For my last confidence award activity I have decided to create a DLO on how to stand up to bullies. On my DLO you will find what forms bullying comes in, and how to deal with bullying. The most common bullying is cyber bullying. This is the easiest and most funnest activity for the confidence award. I hope these tips will change peoples lives.

Career's - Corporate Lawyer

 For the past two weeks our classroom have been looking at careers. Yesterday was my first career session because I was working on building a MBot so I had to choose my career on the spot. For my chosen career I chose a corporate lawyer. I have wanted to be a lawyer since I was nine but I did not know what field law I wanted to study. The thing that caught my eye about being a corporate lawyer is that their starting salary is $105,000 - 125,000 and if they have wealthy clients they can get a salary of $40 million.

Building An MBot

Today I had the opportunity to work with some classmates to build and programme a Mbot. This challenge really got us to collaborate and it really motivated us to keep going. This Mbot was won by Lyndon from the GEG summit we went to last Friday. The hardest part of this process is programming it because we still are trying to figure out how to do it. Besides that I hope Lyndon persuades Mr Johnson to buy some for our school because it requires collaboration, determination and it is a fun experience I think every student in our school should experience.
