Today we had a lot of fun with KiwiCan because all we did was play fun as games. These games also taught us about how to act and what traits you need to possess like showing respect is very important. So if you think about it we are learning in a fun and safe environment. If we did this all the time I don't think I would get sick of it.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Ms Kirkpatrick and Mrs Anderson.

Term 3 Production - Dance Through The Decades Production
Panmure Bridge School is now 60 years old and to celebrate this achievement we have and will be dancing through the decades. In LS2 we have the 70's and 80's and our songs are 'I See Red' by Split Enz, 'Stayin Alive' by the Bee gees and 'Footloose' by Kenny Loggins. I was shocked when I found out that we had to dance to these old classics but at the same time I was excited. Before we danced to these songs I and some other students did our kapa haka performance. My heart was racing because I was so nervous but I overcame it.

Static Advert - critical Analysis
Elections are now over and we have moved on to advertising. There are two different types of advertising and for this week we are learning about static advertising. Static advertising is a non moving ad like posters or billboards. For my ad I chose Whittaker's and just like Weetbix they use a celebrity to promote the brand or item they are selling. In LS2 we have been critically analysing our chosen ads to find the tricks they use. For example when a cereal is shown in an ad the milk is pva glue and the Mcdonald's burgers aren't even real burgers. One thing missing from ads are the important nutritional values.
Political Party Leaders Of New Zealand
Apart of our learning of the 2017 N.Z. elections we created a Presentation of all political party leaders in New Zealand. In LS2 we voted and Labour came up on top with 41/45 voting for them. In percentages that is 92% to Labour, National on 4%, Greens on 2%, and 1 person that did not vote.

Fantasy Conventions - The Princess Bride
Ohhh! How times have changed from unrealistic looking settings to unbelievable editing. To celebrate the amazing achievements by Hollywood we watched one of the most famous movies ever, the Princess Bride. This 1987 movie was chosen to be LS2's movie study. Apart of our Princess Bride study we had to create a DLO either about fantasy conventions, shot types, or character introductions. I chose to do fantasy conventions. This movie consists of some of the most famous lines ever. The line is from Inigo Montoya (one of the characters) and it is 'Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my farther, prepare to die.'

Scale Drawing With Ms Kirkpatrick
In LS2 we cover most type of arts during the year. So for term 3 we have been looking at scale drawings. Scale drawing is when you find a photo of something and get a bigger paper to enlarge it. Before you start drawing, draw a grid over your found photo and then you do the same thing to the bigger paper but twice as big as the original. To help us create this piece of art, we used ratio's. Scale art is like a mix between Art and Maths. I like this even though I dislike Maths and Art.

Adidas Fun Run - Panmure Bridge School
Panmure Bridge School have been doing something for a very long time and it also is done annually. It is the Adidas Fun Run. I don't like the run neither do I like participating in it but it is great to know that you gave it your all. I also like that we get to miss some of the work waiting for us at school.

What A Coalition Is And How They Come To Be.
The New Zealand elections are now over and like in 1996, Winston Peters (New Zealand First Leader) is the Kingmaker once again. This gives Peters the power to choose our new government. For National or Labour to win, N.Z. First will have to create a coalition with one of the major parties. A coalition is when two or more political parties form an alliance like Labour and the Greens have.

Princess Bride - Shot Types
There are a lot of different shot types but they all have one thing in common. They all have reasons why they are used. e.g. a high angle is used to make a character look vulnerable or powerless and low angles are used to make someone look powerful. These tricks are used in a lot of movies like when the Joker is on the floor they would shoot the scene from a high angle. Long shots (A.K.A. establishing shots) are used to fix the setting.

Tamaki College Book Review
LS2 have been looking at books to read on the Tamaki College Overdrive. The T.C. Overdrive is like a digital library which is filled with books from all genre's. I was having a look at the books and one really caught my eye. It was the Library of Souls which is the third novel of the Miss Peregrine series. This book is the best seller in New York with over 5 million copies sold. I read 15 minutes of this book and I really want to read more. This great book is a thriller and has a bit of romance. Critics say 'it's action-packed and accented by strange photos, this final book in Ransom Riggs' Gothic thriller trilogy is complicated, spine-tingling, violent, and romantic.'

Mini Spaghetti Pies With Mrs Heka
"We are making mini spaghetti pies," Mrs Heka announced. (I honestly didn't know what she was talking about.) She fired instructions at us and Ofa, Miki and I were running around like headless chicken getting the ingredients and the required utensils. This week it was harder because we were working with pastry and pastry is pretty delicate. The process was pretty long and it required a lot of energy. I did not know cooking takes a big toll out of you but it did not stop me and my partners. We work very hard and we made very high quality food. The pies were so DELICIOUS!!!

Making Oreo Milkshakes With Mrs Heka
Finally! Cooking with Mrs Heka is such an unforgettable experience. We have been making Oreo milkshakes in a huge commercial kitchen at Tamaki College. The milkshakes were so delicious and working with partners were great because less running around like a headless chicken. Being in a commercial kitchen is so fun but in a commercial kitchen the cleaning must be at high standards and to remember what is the tea towel and what is the polisher is quite confusing. This is just the beginning and I can't wait to see what we have coming. Next week we are baking and that is exciting.
