Retelling A Story Using Haiku - How Maui Brought Fire To The World.

This week we have been retelling the story on How Maui Brought Fire To the World through Haiku poems. Haiku poems have three lines that include syllables. The first line has 5 syllables, the second line has 7 syllables and the third line has 5 syllables. Syllables are the beat of a word with consonants surrounding the vowels. Haiku poems are a traditional form of Japanese poetry. I really enjoyed this activity because I love reading and writing.
