This week is Samoan language week and to embrace the culture of some of our pupils at school LS1 and LS2 learnt basic phrases and the cultural beliefs of Samoa. My group consisted of Oscar, Leroy and Te Pounamu. We decided to do a DLO based on their flag and their coat of arms. One thing I learnt was that they gained independence in 1962. Were you aware that the Samoan language is the second most spoken language in Auckland?
